Lun olive gardens

Lun, the northernmost settlement of the island of Pag is known for its olives and olive oil. Nearly every family of Lun and the surrounding area have their own olive trees, scattered all over the place, inherited from their great grandparents. Among 80 000 olive trees spread on about 23 hectares, about 1500 trees of wild olive Olea Oleaster species stand out in their uniqueness, quite different from one another, intergrown with the surrounding stones, as if they were always there. And they almost were since the oldest olive tree has over a thousand years.

The Pag Triangle

Only 1.5 km away from The Barbati Apartments there is a starting point to the mystical Pag Triangle. The Pag Triangle was discovered in 1999. It is an area of approximately 500 square meters in which the shape, size and color of the stones differs from those nearby. The area is an isosceles triangle of 32x32x22 meters in dimensions. Its discovery was widely covered by the media so the Pag Triangle has intrigued scientists and UFOlogists, and this area has become a tourist attraction. Further studies have shown that the rocks in the Pag Triangle fluoresces in red under the UV light which means that they were thermally processed probably some 12000 years ago. The fact that there aren't any living plants or insects in the triangle area made the visitors speculate about the origin and existence of the triangle: some argue that it is the imprint of an alien spacecraft, others that it is a guide to the constellations, the sanctuary of the Neolithic hunter or a personification of the Holy Trinity … Visiting the Pag triangle will allow you to incline to a particular theory or perhaps develop your own.
